We have large selection of historic photos, Hamilton Spectator pages, and a collection of books and merchandise we hope you'll enjoy. Soon we will be adding merchandise from the New York Times.
We now have a pick-up option! (not available during COVID-19 emergency)
To save the shipping charges and order your product for pick-up at the Spectator, select "Customer Pick Up" on the checkout page. Your order will be ready in approximately two business days for pick-up at customer service in the lobby at 44 Frid Street, Hamilton. You will receive an email when your order is ready for pick-up.
How long will it take to receive my order if I have it delivered?
Our orders typically require two weeks for delivery, In a rush? Contact us to find out if rush delivery is available. An additional rush fee will apply.
Where do you ship book/calendar orders and what do you charge?
We ship to anywhere in Canada; fees range from $10.00 to $25 per shipment. Higher charges apply on orders mailed to the continental United States (excludes Alaska and Hawaii).
We do not accept book orders shipped to destinations outside of Canada and the continental U.S, but photos can be shipped.
What is your return policy?
You may return any of the following items to SpecStore.ca, for any reason, for a full refund (we'll also refund the return shipping cost, if the return is a result of our error) within 30 days of delivery of your shipment:
- Any book in its original condition
- Any unopened (still in its plastic wrap) CD, DVD, calendar.
The following items are non-returnable and non-refundable:
- Custom-ordered photos
- Page reprints
We'll notify you of your refund via e-mail after we've received and processed the returned item. You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for purchase within 7 to 14 business days after we receive your return.
PhotographsWhy can't I buy a print of a sports event or a celebrity on your site?
Due to copyright and other rights restrictions, it is usually not possible for us to sell reprinted photos of professional sports or entertainment events for personal use.
Why can't I find the photo I want?
We've put together a selection of our most popular images. But, if you've seen a photo in the Hamilton Spectator or remember one from days gone by, please send an email to email@example.com or call 905-526-3520. Please note: we can only sell photographs taken by Hamilton Spectator staff (except for photos taken prior to 1949). You will not find any images from wire services (e.g. CP, AP, Reuters, Getty) or freelance photographers.
A Hamilton Spectator photographer took my picture but it was not published in The Spec. Can I still purchase a copy?
Yes, if the picture was saved in our digital archive we can usually offer the photo to you for sale. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and provide all the details about the image you are looking for.
Can I purchase an image published in an older issue of the Hamilton Spectator that is not on your website?
Images published before 2000 are typically not available; however, page reprints are available for purchase. Please tell us what you are looking for by filling out our page request form.
What is the quality of the photos?
